Amritapuri

Headquarters of Mata Amritanandamayi Math

Amritapuri, the international spiritual headquarters of the devotees of Amma’s monastic disciples as well as household, is situated in the very same place where Amma was born. Everyday, thousands of devotees from India and abroad flock to Amritapuri, to get Amma’s darshan and blessings.

From a humble beginning, in the year 1981, Amritapuri has come a long way to become a vibrant international community, the ethos of which is rooted in the concept of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ – the whole world is one family. The Ashram inmates – 3,500 monastic disciples and devotees from around the world – find new inner meaning in life and spiritual solace, through the silent transformation imparted by Amma.

Amma’s relentless efforts to serve and embrace humanity with loving care witnessed the Mata Amritanandamayi Math establishing active presence in over 40 countries, where its 100 centres and thousands of sub-centres are devoted in carrying out Amma’s mission and vision – that we’re here to make a meaningful, qualitative difference to the lives of those who yearn for a helping hand.
