Amrita signs an MoU with Kings College London

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham (Amrita) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with King’s College London (KCL) for potential multidisciplinary collaborative opportunities in academics and research. Dr. Maneesha Sudheer, Dean of International Programs, Amrita and Prof Funmi Olonisakan, Vice-Principal, KCL signed the MoU on behalf of their Universities.

The successful research collaboration between Amrita Center for Wireless Networks and Applications, (AmritaWNA) and the Department of Geography, KCL, has led to the development of a new partnership and signing of an MoU between the two Universities.

King’s College London is the 7th best University in the UK and 31st in the world (QS World University Rankings 2019). This MoU is an effort to pursue deep collaborations like twinning arrangements and student/faculty exchange in any of the academic disciplines at either of the two institutes. It also has some promising outcomes through a gamut of collaborations in specific areas of research.

After signing the MoU, Prof Funmi Olonisakan, Vice-Principal, King’s College London said: “We at King’s are excited to sign the MoU with Amrita University and we look forward to future engagements to develop strong collaborative research portfolio in multidisciplinary sciences and meaningful capacity building programs for students, staff and researchers at both institutes.”

Dr Maneesha Sudheer, Dean, International Programs, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, said:  “These new international collaborations are valuable tools that will accelerate our academics and enhance the quality of Amrita’s research. Such networking and cooperation opportunities are extremely valuable for sharing information on new approaches and resources but also acquiring specialized and new expertise.”
