Amrita University pays tribute to the CRPF Martyrs of Pulwama Terror Attack

Students & Faculty of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham offered their tribute to 44 CRPF men, who were martyred i na terror attack at Pulwama, at a function held at Amritapuri Campus on Saturday. The event was attended by 17 CRPF personnel of the F/221 Bn CRPF unit stationed at Amritapuri. CRPF Inspector Jonah Alfred shared his views on the tragic incident. Students, Associate Dean of Amrita School of Engineering Dr. Balakrishnan Shankar, Pincipal of School of Engineering Dr. S.N. Jyothi, spoke.

The para-military personnel, students and faculty offered floral tributes to teh fallen heroes which were followed by lighting of lamps. The CRPF anthem was sung at the event. The ceremony concluded with a two-minute silent prayer which was followed by the national anthem.

The students and staff of Amrita’s Coimbatore campus also organized a similar event amidst  the annual national tech fest- ANOKHA happening at the campus. Thousands of students and staff from various institutions all othe country joined the vent by lighting candles and praying for the family of the brave hearts.
