Amrita SREE Ernakulam District Annual Meet 2019

Prominent actor Salim Kumar today lauded the initiatives being taken by Amma and the Ashram in equipping the women from the weaker sections of the society to stand on their feet. He was inaugurating the Amrita SREE Sangamam held at the Udyogamandal FACT School Playground here today. “It was Amma’s divine intervention and blessing that actually paved the way for my return to normalcy after being stuck by a grave ailment which was on the verge of being fatal. The social media actually wrote by obituary almost ten times and many who were dear to me wrote me off.

But it was Amma’s consoling words that actually imbibed the positive energy in me to come back to life” , the actor said, while recollecting a crucial phase in his life. Swami Purnamritananda Puri, who delivered the benedictory address, opined that each and every individual’s first university and first teacher will always be their own mother and only mothers could lead their children to benevolence. Amma’s dream is to see the whole world as a single family and she is constantly engaged in achieving this goal, he added.

CPM leader and former MP K. Chandran Pillai, Kollam DCC President Bindhu Krishna and BJP district President N K Mohandas were the guests of honour at the function. The inauguration of the distribution of this year’s working capital and other benefits to Amrita SREE units was jointly carried out by Swami Purnamritananda Puri, Salim Kumar the guests of honour. The distribution of clothes and other gifts to the members of the various Amrita SREE units was also held on the occasion. Amrita SREE Chief coordinator R Ranganathan welcomed the gathering and Ernakulam district coordinator Omana Sulalitan delivered the vote of Thanks. Around 15,000 women belonging to the various Amrita SREE groups in the district participated in the event. An amount of Rs 30,000 was given as the working capital for each group this year.
