President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the C20 Working Group’s Seedball Dispersal initiative in Puducherry, for a Greener Tomorrow and sustainable environment. This initiative, a part of the Global Seedball Campaign, was organized in collaboration with the Puducherry government, Mata Amritanandamayi Math, and the Sustainable and Resilient Communities Working Group under the Civil 20 (C20) program, chaired by Mata Amritanantamayi Devi which is an engagement group within the G20 framework.
The esteemed gathering at Thirukanchi Temple event, included Dr. (Tmt). Tamilisai Soundararajan, Hon’ble Lt. Governor of Puducherry; Thiru. N. Rangasamy, the Chief Minister of Puducherry; Thiru. C. Djeacoumar, Hon’ble Minister for Agriculture and Forest, Puducherry; Swami Ramakrishnananda Puri, Treasurer, Mata Amritanandamayi Math and other government officials.
This Global Seedball Campaign aims to inspire the youth and the general public to foster collaborative efforts towards a greener and sustainable future. This campaign has garnered extensive support from government officials, college and school students, NGOs, NCC, NSS, Rotary Club, Auroville and other esteemed stakeholders across the country.

The initiative focuses on reforestation through the production and distribution of seedballs, a simple yet effective technique of encapsulating tree seeds in clay and compost. This initiative, in collaboration with AYUDH, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math’s global youth wing, aspires to disperse one million seedballs in fragile ecosystems worldwide. Volunteers from various centers of Mata Amritanandamayi Math across India and in Asia, Europe, South America, North America, Australia, and Africa will unite to inspire people to contribute to this noble cause.
