Amrita Ranked 4th best University and 7th best Medical College in India: NIRF India Rankings 2020

Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham emerged as the 4th best university in the country in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) Ranking 2020. The University was also ranked 7th among medical colleges in India. The list was released by Hon’ble Minster for Human Resources & Development Sri. Ramesh PokhriyalNishank’  on June 11, 2020. Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham was once again ranked among the top best university in India behind well-established and prestigious public institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi; Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. In 2019, Amrita was ranked 8th best. VIT & Amrita are the only two private engineering institutes to be ranked in top 20 in the engineering category

Amrita School of Medicine was ranked 7th best medical college in the county after All India Institute of Medical Sciences New Delhi, Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, Christian Medical College, Vellore, National Institute of Mental Health & Neuro Sciences, Banglore, Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow and Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi and ahead of a prestigious institution like, JIPMER, Puducherry, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, and others  “Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and it’s medical college once again finding a place in the top 10 in the NIRF Ranking 2020 is ample testimony to the vision of the worldrenowned humanitarian leader and Chancellor, Sri Mata Amritanandamayi in setting the dual goals of education for life and compassiondriven research. The recognition would not have been possible for the tiring efforts put in by the students and staff, and I wish to express my sincere gratitude to the Government of India in bestowing this honour. I am happy with the consistency in the recognition to the academic excellence, outstanding faculty, and world-class infrastructure that the university is known for,” said Dr P Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.
