Since opening the doors of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences & Research Centre (Amrita Hospital, our tertiary care hospital in Kochi, Kerala) in 1998, the Mata Amritanandamayi Math has provided more than R622.5 crore worth of charitable medical care; more than 43.3 lakh patients received completely free treatment. In 2016, we broke ground on a new 2,000-bed Amrita Hospital, slated to be the largest hospital in the Delhi-NCR area.
